Exponential growth sees development of Commercial Officer role
The success of Life Scientific over the last 8 years has seen expansion of a team of over 90 employees across 7 countries. Pivotal to building on this growth is the continuing development of the markets and customer base – which has seen the opening of a role within the executive leadership team for a Chief Commercial Officer with a global remit.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Tom Staples to this exciting new role. From a farming background in Canada, Tom has gathered a diverse background of leadership experience working with both agricultural and digital technology industries which he brings to Life Scientific.
He says: “I am delighted to be joining such an exciting and innovative business and very much look forward to playing my part in helping to shape the future of the business and making Life Scientific the most successful agrochemical innovator ever.”
Looking Back At The Last Twelve Months
It has been an exciting 12 months at Life Scientific. The appointment of our new Chief Commercial Officer is a signal of the growth that we are expecting in the future but also as recognition of how the business has grown over the last year. Life Scientific has been successful in registering thirteen new products across seven European countries including the introduction into a new market for Life Scientific, Italy.
These registrations have been achieved using our unique approach of reverse engineering from an existing reference product and in a new approach for us, a novel formulation which is not yet on the market. We hope to bring more of these novel products to market both in Europe and the UK.
New EAMU For Boscler
We are pleased to announce BOSCLER, our reverse engineered Filan containing 50% w/w boscalid, has been granted an EAMU as a drench treatment on harvested cabbage just prior to storage. BOSCLER, MAPP 19113 can be used for the control of grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) and applications can be made between 1st October and 31st December using a modified vehicle mounted horizontal boom sprayer or handheld manual (tank and lance) hydraulic sprayer in 20 L water per tonne of harvested cabbage.
The EAMU approval number is 2519 and can be found on our website or the CRD Pesticides Database.
Follow-up Weed Control In Winter Wheat
In those areas where machinery travel is possible, growers are considering their herbicide options for cereals as the mild weather has been encouraging weed growth.
Niantic contains mesosulfuron-methyl and iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium, two highly active sulfonylurea herbicides for the control of non-resistant black-grass, wild oats, rye-grasses, meadow grasses, common chickweed, mayweeds, charlock and volunteer oilseed rape in winter wheat.
Application technique, particularly nozzle choice, makes a huge difference to levels of control and with spray opportunities now limited it’s crucial to get it right first time. For more information including product label, safety data sheet and compatible tank mixes see the Life Scientific website.
Niantic should be used with one of the authorised adjuvants Probe or BioPower
As this year closes, Life Scientific would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, past and present, for their support, and to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy, safe and successful New Year.
We look forward to working with you in 2024!
